A school of dance founded by Dipanwita Roy in 1984, Shibaranjani is a voluntary non-profit organisation engaged in the promotion of Indian Classical Music & Dance, and in encouraging physically challenged and socially neglected young talents in their respective field of brilliance. Shibaranjani has trained numerous young dancers in the nuances of Odissi, who have developed into dancers of repute in India and in foreign countries. From 2011, Shibaranjani has launched branches in Manhattan & White Plains in New York, U.S.A., to nurture the local talents in that country, under the tutelage of Dipanwita’s daughter Priyadarshini. Since 2000, Shibaranjani is imparting free dance & painting lessons to the girls of Apne Aap Women Worldwide (a grass-root movement against sex-trafficking) who have showcased their talents in a several presentations in the recent past.
